Things You Should Know About A New Jersey Bed Bugs Part I Of II

According to the National Pest Management Association, New York and New Jersey are not the only places that you will find vast amounts of bed bug infestations.  Bed bugs can now be found in all 50 states and a recent survey has revealed that one out of every five American’s has either encountered bed bugs themselves, or knows someone who has had an infestation, or knows someone who has encountered bed bugs in a hotel or motel environment.  Statistically speaking, this is serious information.  Additionally, bed bug infestations can be found evenly distributed throughout the United States, and are especially predominate in major metropolitan areas.  Industry experts are reporting that bed bugs are now part of our everyday experience.  They are not going away…at least not anytime soon.  In fact, as it currently stands, there are no new pesticides expected to be released for at least 5 to 10 years!

New Jersey pest control experts advise residents that being on the lookout for bed bugs at all times will help lessen your chances of bringing bed bugs to your home or business.  Educating yourself about the little bloodsuckers and becoming aware of how you can contract them are good steps in avoiding them, say New Jersey pest control professionals.

Here are a few things to keep in mind about bed bugs:

• Bed bugs are hitchhikers so you can pick them up in a variety of different locations. Watch for them when you visit retail stores, hospitals, libraries, buses, airplanes, hotels, or a neighbor’s house.  Schools have recently become a hot spot for bed bug activity, so be sure to check your child’s backpack, coat, hat, gloves etc. each day upon returning home from school.
