Bed Bugs Found In New Furniture…Company Says It’s Impossible! Page 2 Of 2

Continuing from Friday…

If the furniture was delivered via the furniture delivery truck, there is a possibility that there were bed bugs on the truck, especially if the furniture company offered the service of removing used furniture from other patrons homes.

The furniture in question was reportedly wrapped in plastic upon its arrival to the customer’s house.  If it was wrapped in the warehouse where used furniture is stored or delivered on the same truck where used furniture is picked up, there is a chance that bed bugs crawled under the plastic wrapping and hid inside of the furniture awaiting their new home.

Reports are from Bakersfield now.com on December 13, 2012 that the pest control company that was called to the customer’s home states that the majority of the bed bugs were confined to the two new recliners, but they have spread to other areas of the home.

The customer has offered to pay for eradication treatment of her home, but she is requesting that new recliners be delivered from the furniture company.  The furniture company has yet to claim any responsibility or offer the customer any resolution in this matter.  The customer is being quite fair in offering to pay for the eradication of the bed bugs and it does not seem unreasonable that she would is requesting new chairs under the circumstances.

Because of the nature of the complaint, and the severity of the infested chairs, it would seem logical that the furniture company would offer two new chairs as a matter of good faith to the customer.  They would not even have to accept blame!

The facts are that bed bugs can arrive in your home on new furniture, although some people may believe that it is a rare occurrence.
