Get Rid Of Bothersome New Jersey Yellow Jackets

Although we might have a few more good weeks of warm summertime weather to look forward to in New Jersey, Labor Day weekend typically is our good-bye to summer.  Many New Jersey residents have headed to their beach houses to enjoy one last fabulous long weekend before the chilly fall weather sets in.  Some residents have stayed around town for fun barbeques and outdoor games.  If you have spent any time outdoors, it would be hard to not notice that the summertime pests are still lurking about and causing a ruckus!

If you have been enjoying your Labor Day weekend outdoors, you have likely noticed an increase in yellow jackets around your backyard barbeque.  They are on a constant hunt for a tasty treat of sugary and protein substances.  These wasps typically become more aggressive as the fall season approaches because their nest is at full capacity.  The best way to control yellow jackets is to eliminate their nest completely, which is no easy task.

A yellow jacket nest can be buried deep in the ground, inside a wall void or attic of a building, or hidden inside of dense bush areas.  With a little sleuthing, you can find where the entrance to a yellow jacket nest is.  Unlike other types of insects, foraging yellow jackets tend to fly the same straight flight pattern from the nest to their food sources and back again.  These wasps will zip past you very quickly and repeatedly race into the opening of their nest.  New Jersey residents should not try to treat a yellow jacket nest on their own as their stings are not only painful, they can be very dangerous.  It should be noted that yellow jackets are responsible for sending more people to hospitals than any other insect in the United States.

Some insects will be meeting their demise as the weather turns cold.  Some will hide deep within the ground awaiting the warmth of next spring. Some will try to make your New Jersey home, their new home.  Keep all of your unwanted pests away by contacting Allison Pest Control for expert pest management and eradication services.
