\"\"<\/a>New Jersey pest control<\/a> experts continue to be kept busy fighting the war against a multitude of pests each spring, summer and fall.\u00a0 New Jersey residents must be careful to avoid a variety of blood thirsty pests as they are often known to carry pathogens that are harmful to humans.\u00a0 The mosquito must be avoided because of West Nile Virus, encephalitis, and dengue fever.\u00a0 Ticks are dangerous because of their ability to transmit Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, ehrlichiosis, babesiosis and a host of other diseases that will cause harm to humans.\u00a0 In addition, you have the dreaded bed bug.\u00a0 Not just a summertime pest, as their thirst for blood is never ending.\u00a0 A recent Canadian study has found that bed bugs, which were collected on patients in a hospital, contained (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) MRSA and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE).<\/p>\n

Newswire reported on July 28, 2011 that researchers have discovered a new tick-borne bacterium that is infecting humans with ehrlichiosis.\u00a0 Doctors at the Mayo Clinic conducted DNA testing to find the new strain of bacteria which has not yet been named.\u00a0 So far the bacterium has only been found in deer ticks<\/a> (black legged ticks), and only in Wisconsin and Minnesota.\u00a0 To date, 25 people have been affected by the tick-borne bacterium, although doctors suspect that many more people were infected and misdiagnosed or unreported as having the illness.<\/p>\n

Because of this new discovery, thousands of blood samples and tick specimens have been submitted from across the United States to the Mayo Clinic for examination to see if the same problem is occurring in other states.\u00a0 To date only Minnesota and Wisconsin ticks have been affected.<\/p>\n
