Summer also brings out many different kinds of bugs and pests, one of those being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allisonpest.com\/blog\/category\/bees-wasps\/\">wasps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When left alone, wasps are no threat to us. However, a mass attack can occur if their nest is disrupted. And, unlike bees whose stingers are barbed,\u00a0a wasp can sting multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some tips on what to do if you are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vespa-bicolor.net\/main\/vespid\/attacked.htm\">attacked by wasps<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If attacked once, intense local pain,\u00a0swelling, and itching are common. All that is needed is a simple disinfectant. Carry antiseptic pads with you and treat the area with the antiseptic\u00a0pad and ice. Don&#8217;t hit or catch a wasp with your bare hands- this is the best way to avoid single stings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If attacked by a swarm, the best thing to do is to leave the area as quick as you can. Run until they aren&#8217;t chasing, go inside or, turn a corner sharply.
