\"\"<\/a>We are knee deep in the holiday travel season and come next week, children across the United States will begin their winter break from school.\u00a0 As Christmas day is fast approaching, families will make their way to friends, relatives, or other fun destinations both near and far.\u00a0 Folks will take to the roads, trains, buses, and air in mass not expecting to encounter an unlikely hitchhiker along the way.\u00a0 NJ Pest Control<\/a> experts say that all travelers should be careful when they travel this holiday season because bed bugs<\/a> and other creepy pests are indeed on the rise in all traveling venues.<\/p>\n

Some people are under the misconception that they are safe from all types of pests when they travel via airplanes.\u00a0 As some airline travelers are finding out, creepy crawling pests are not immune to the high altitudes of airline travel.\u00a0 WCNC.com reported on November 11, 2011 that a couple who was flying from Charlotte to Houston was shocked to discover cockroaches living among the interior of their airplane.\u00a0 They claim that their inflight service included a visit from an uninvited overhead creeper that reared its ugly head as it emerged from the seats overhead light fixture.\u00a0 They also claim that they had to dispose of many personal belongings after they discovered cockroaches running throughout the overhead luggage storage compartments.\u00a0 They are suing the airline for a multitude of reasons for a whopping $100,000!\u00a0 Ouch!\u00a0 You may read the story here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In another story that will likely make your skin crawl, Elliott.org reported on December 13, 2011 that a woman claims that she was recently attacked by bed bugs or fleas while traveling via airplane from Atlanta to New York.\u00a0 The woman never found any bugs, but says that she was covered in bites after her flight.<\/p>\n
