\"\"<\/a>New Jersey pest control<\/a> professionals continue to be on the front lines in the battle against bed bug infestations<\/a>.\u00a0 These tiny critters that are known to attack their victims during the nighttime hours have made their way throughout the state of New Jersey and all across the US.\u00a0 Because of their propensity to hitchhike, they have been found lurking in all types of locations.\u00a0 Movie theaters, office buildings, single family homes, multi-family homes, hospitals, jails, buses, airplanes, taxis, trains, retail stores and even schools have all suffered from these common pests.<\/p>\n

Not known to transmit any disease to humans, bed bugs often cause red swollen bumps where they have bitten their victims. For those that suffer the allergic reaction to the bites, intense itching and scratching occur, which can sometimes lead to a secondary infection.<\/p>\n

Bed bugs can easily be transmitted to a school via a student\u2019s backpack, books, binders, lunchbox, coats, hats, or gym uniform.\u00a0 Because bed bugs are equal opportunity offenders, teachers, school administration, and maintenance or cafeteria workers can easily transmit bed bugs into a school.\u00a0 On November 9, 2011, Asbury Park Press reported that Lakewood High School in Ocean County, New Jersey found a pair of bed bugs in the school.\u00a0 According to the schools protocol, the Ocean County Health Department was called and the seven page memo that outlines how bed bugs must be dealt with was followed completely.\u00a0 Officials reported that the school was sanitized and a letter was sent to parents in both Spanish and English explaining how to recognize bed bugs and what to do afterwards.<\/p>\n
