If you weren\u2019t worried about encountering bed bugs before, these new results from recent surveys might change your mind.\u00a0 A discreet survey conducted by Hotel Interactive reveals that 57% of hotels have had to deal with bed bug infestations<\/a>.\u00a0 Bed bugs are opportunistic feeders so you can be equally bitten in a 5 star resort or a low budget motel.\u00a0 Just this week, New York City\u2019s posh Waldorf Astoria was slapped with their third bed bug related lawsuit within the past few months.<\/p>\n

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) conducted a survey of pest control experts across the United States and the bed bug infestation numbers are staggering.\u00a0 According to their reports, 95% of pest control experts<\/a> claim to have provided bed bug services to customers in the past 12 months.\u00a0 Of those provided, 52% report bed bug infestations in rural areas, 71% report infestations in urban areas, and 80% report infestation in suburban areas.<\/p>\n

The NPMA is hosting the National Bed Bug Forum in Bloomfield, Colorado this week.\u00a0 Top experts are on hand to lend their expertise on bed bug infestations<\/a> to over 500 attendees who have traveled from all over the US to attend the conference.\u00a0 Michael Potter is a well-known researcher at the University of Kentucky and is at the NPMA conference.\u00a0 According to the Denver Post he is quoted as saying, \u201cBedbugs are the hardest pest to control in America, despite stiff competition from ants, roaches and termites.\u00a0 Yes, they’re coming back. Infestation is inevitable.\u00a0 Infestation is unstoppable. The bedbug problem is going to be more difficult to deal with this time around.\u201d<\/p>\n
