Bed bugs<\/a> may not always make front page news, but rest assured, they are still alive and well in communities across the United States.\u00a0 Despite previous news coverage and widespread information about the bloodsuckers that has been created, many people are still unaware of how the bugs are spread, and more importantly, how to eradicate the little vampires once they appear.<\/p>\n

The DailyToreador.com reported on October 8, 2013<\/a> that students at Texas Tech\u2019s Weymouth Residence Hall began receiving random bites soon after the semester began.\u00a0 Those random bites quickly increased over time which is when maintenance was called.\u00a0 A quick response was easy as maintenance was already in the housing facility checking out other rooms for hidden bed bugs.\u00a0 It did not take long for the critters to be found and according to the Managing Director for University Student Housing, \u201cWhen we become aware of bedbugs, we jump on it with both feet because we don\u2019t want it to become systemic.\u201d<\/p>\n
