Many types of wasps<\/a> cause problems for New Jersey residents as they go about their daily activities report Monmouth County, NJ exterminators<\/a>.\u00a0 Social wasps that belong to the Vespidae family can be an extreme nuisance to encounter.\u00a0Vespidae family wasps include hornets, yellow jackets, and paper wasps.\u00a0 Each of these types of insects will defend their nest and territory with vigor if they believe a threat is nearby.<\/p>\n

Vespidae family critters tend to build their nests near humans making chance encounters with the stinging pests an ongoing problem.\u00a0 It can be quite difficult to enjoy a backyard barbeque, pool party, or day at an amusement park with wasps or hornets flying in to partake in food or drink samplings of sweet sodas.\u00a0 These pesky invaders love both sweets and meat and have proven to be aggressive and dangerous home invaders.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to tell the difference between wasps and bees<\/a> because bees have body hairs with thin elongated body frames.\u00a0 Wasps may be reddish-brown, brown, black, or yellow and black in color.\u00a0 Their bodies have long narrow wings that fold into their body when they are not flying.<\/p>\n

Wasps create paper-like nests that are made of wood fibers.\u00a0 The biggest difference between these aggressive pests is where they choose to build their nests.\u00a0 Paper wasps build their open paper-like nests under porches, eaves or windows.\u00a0 Insects that are caught are brought back to the nest and fed to their growing young.\u00a0 Caterpillars are one of their favorite meals.\u00a0 These wasps don\u2019t usually cause problems for people unless they are being disturbed.<\/p>\n
