Brood II cicadas are insects<\/a> that have a shiny black body with bright red bulging eyes.\u00a0 They can also be distinguished by the wings with red veins.<\/p>\n

Brood II cicadas will begin to appear after the ground temperature remains at a steady 64 degrees and above.\u00a0 Once they begin to emerge, they will emerge by the millions!\u00a0 The red-eyed, bug-eyed creatures do not:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Bite humans or pets.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Won\u2019t eat or infest wood sources.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Won\u2019t suck the blood of humans or pets.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Don\u2019t stink when you squish them.<\/p>\n

The bad news is\u2026Brood II cicadas likely will be everywhere you look or step.\u00a0It is anticipated that there will be approximately millions of cicadas per square mile.\u00a0 They may even keep you up at night with the interesting noise (i.e. mating calls) that they make!<\/p>\n

The goods is\u2026Brood II cicadas only come to the surface to find a mate, which only takes four to six weeks.<\/p>\n
