It is not likely surprising to know that spiders intimidate nearly all of the human population.\u00a0 Statistics show that 85% of people are afraid of spiders!\u00a0There are thousands species of spiders<\/a> in the world, and 59 reside in North America report Monmouth County, NJ pest control<\/a> professionals.<\/p>\n

Spiders<\/a> are not insects.\u00a0 They are known as \u201carachnids\u201d.\u00a0 A spider is easy to identify as it always has eight legs (four on each side of its body).\u00a0 Spiders can take on different colors and shapes.\u00a0 Some spiders are venomous, while others are not.\u00a0 Depending on the species of spider, the behavior pattern will differ as well.\u00a0 Some spiders are avid hunters, while other spiders will spin a web and wait for their prey to become entrapped.\u00a0 Some webs that are spun are not used to capture prey though.\u00a0 Instead, some species of spiders will spin elaborate webs as part of their courtship ritual.<\/p>\n

Despite the dangers associated with some spiders, overall, spiders are considered to be beneficial creatures as they consume a multitude of insects that are considered to be pests to gardens, homes, and businesses.<\/p>\n

Spiders become problematic for New Jersey home and businesses when they come indoors or when they are too close to the exterior of the structure.\u00a0 The black widow and brown recluse spiders are particularly worrisome because of the venom that they inflict on their victims when they bite.\u00a0 Anyone who is bitten by a spider should seek medical attention quickly.<\/p>\n
