\"\"<\/a>Pest control professionals in Ocean Country, NJ<\/a> report that mosquitoes<\/a> are out in full force this summertime season.\u00a0 Experts believe that the dry weather coupled with the warm winter and the early onset of springtime weather has helped the mosquito population grow exponentially.<\/p>\n

NJtoday.net reported on July 30, 2012<\/a> that the first case of West Nile Virus has been confirmed in New Jersey.\u00a0 Reports are that a 19 year old woman from Monmouth Country was hospitalized because of the virus, but is now recovering and has been released. It is believed that the woman sustained several mosquito bites while outdoors in Ocean County, New Jersey.<\/p>\n

This is believed to be the earliest case of West Nile Virus reported in the State of New Jersey.\u00a0 Studies of mosquito pools have revealed that mosquitoes are testing positive for West Nile Virus in 19 counties in New Jersey.\u00a0 Additionally, seventeen birds have also tested positive for the virus.<\/p>\n

Residents in New Jersey are being warned to take precautions against mosquitoes when spending any time outdoors.\u00a0 If spending any time outdoors, you should wear insect repellent that contains DEET.\u00a0 Wear long sleeve clothing (shirts and pants \u2013 weather permitting).\u00a0 Spray insect repellent on exposed skin and on clothing to keep mosquitoes away.\u00a0 Additionally, it is recommended to avoid spending time outdoors during peak mosquito biting times:\u00a0 dusk, dawn, and during the evening hours.<\/p>\n
