Got Mice?

It’s hard to imagine with the weather so nice and warm outside that in a few short weeks fall will be upon us in New Jersey and many bothersome pests will not be happy with the temperatures in the great outdoors.  Many pests big and small will be looking for a new place to hang their hat for the long winter months.  One such pest that you must keep a watchful eye out for is the dreaded house mouse.  This troublesome pest can cause all sorts of problems when it decides that your home or business is a good place to reside.  Mice can fit into a space as small as a pencil.  They can chew into any type of food source, so it is easy for them to contaminate most anything you have in your home or business. Like other rodents, their continuous need to gnaw has even caused fires.

Ridding your home or business of mice is an unpleasant task and not one for the squeamish.  Consumers have the choice of using a few different types of rodent removal products.  There are sticky traps, snap traps, and poisons.  Although still available, sticky traps are no longer recommended for consumer use because when mice die, they release their bowels and then people are subjected to dangerous pathogens which can cause serious and even life threatening illnesses.  Snap traps are the most human ways of killing mice, but for most folks, it is quite unpleasant to remove dead rodents from the traps and then reload the contraption.  Using poisons to kill rodents has its own problems as well.  Poisons should never be used where children or pets are present.  Poisons are also a problem when rodents eat it and then disappear and die in places where humans are unable locate them, such as wall voids, crawl spaces, and under kitchen cabinets, etc.

Your best alternative is to always call a licensed pest control expert who is trained in the proper treatment and removal of mice!
